It all began at a junior high school dance, where the allure of the turntable first caught young SouthLAnd’s eye. From there, what started as a family affair quickly snowballed into headlining weddings, corporate events, and festivals. With a family that grooved to the soulful tunes of funk and dance, it’s no wonder DJ SouthLAnd was destined for the decks.

Beyond just playing tracks, DJ SouthLAnd is a maestro in the studio. Not only does he produce signature beats and innovative remixes, but he also collaborates with his son, the young and rising DJ and Producer, DJ Dez1. Together, they create electrifying music that resonates with all generations.

His love for music is only rivaled by his passion for community. For over two decades, he blew the whistle as a referee for high school and college basketball games. But the call of music was too strong, leading him to hang up his referee shoes and step behind the DJ booth full-time.

As the official DJ for the Not-profit East Side Riders Bike Club and having managed a stage for NextFest at the L.A. County Fair for two consecutive years, DJ SouthLAnd’s reputation precedes him. Esteemed organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation, CicLAvia, South Norte, Torrance Street Fair, L.A. County Fair, and the American Heart Association have all grooved to his sound.
